Hi Folks:

WOW – what a change in our world in just a few days due to the Omicron Variant!
Be advised that Flowertown has cancelled curling on Monday 😞, including their Christmas Luncheon. And, there will be no more curling at Dixie 😥 until at least January 9th.  As of this moment, we have had no news from MG&CC about the new year, but I am sure that there will be announcements made after Christmas.
In the meantime, our Trophy Spiel 🏆was a success “THANKS” to Craig Franklin, Bruce Wither and Joe Caruso.  Congrats to our Trophy Spiel winners – 🥇 the Caruso Team (Allan Methven, Randy Wilson, Hugh Goodwillie & Joe Caruso), and to the Battaglia Team 🥈(Michael Battaglia, Greg Waterman, Michael Deverell, & Earl Nixon) who came 2nd and the Rudd Team🥉(John Rudd, Jim Jennings, Bob Hand, & David Burns) who came 3rd.  And, our Christmas Luncheon was also well attended, “THANKS” to Doug Martin, Bruce Wither, Bob Hand and John Page (it was good to have some past members join us).
Don’t forget to sign up for the Friendly 😀 Bonspiel on Friday, January 14th, with MG&CC.  The registration info was sent out on December 13th by Joe.  The spiel includes 2 games 🥌 and lunch 🍽 at MG&CC all for just $40.00.  You can also sign up to spare.
As we say good-bye to another year, my wish for each of you is that you stay safe over the Holiday Season and that you are able to enjoy the Christmas Season in spite of all the doom and gloom around us.  As Canadians 🍁, we still have so much for which to be thankful.  The attached video of The Aroha Junior Choir and their rendition of “Someday at Christmas” brought tears to my eyes.  I hope you enjoy their musical message too.
In the meantime, I wish you a very 🎅MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 and a HAPPY, HEALTHY 2022.

God bless 🙏,Duncan.
