Humber Curlers and Associates,

Sadly, I see many leaves falling on the lawn and on the golf courses, making it difficult in finding your golf balls.  Fortunately, the curling ice is ready, very keen and awaiting our imminent return!

We had a wonderful turnout last Wednesday at our open house and practise day.  Many of our newest members were there for the very first time!

I would like all of you to join with our executive, in welcoming our newest curlers and also helping them with any questions and concerns that they may have about this great game!

Our newest members are:  Bruno Aldini, Greg Belbin, Peter Broad, Paul Collins, Jamie Reilly, Joanne Reilly, Gabriele Rucchetto.

Also returning members and associates: Isidore Germain, Bruce Wither, Gary Halpenny, Robert Hazlett, Dave Irwin, Angus Warren, Virginia Warren.

We wish you all a very enjoyable curling season with us!

Hopefully these items below will help answer some of your questions but do not hesitate to reach out to your skip or teammates should you have any other questions!  They will be more than happy to assist you!

Opening Day

Our first official day of curling will commence on Wednesday, Oct. 11th games start promptly at 9:30 AM.  We would like to see everyone arrive by 9:00 AM in order to ensure that you have time to prepare for the game.

Announcements

Daily announcements starting at 9:15 AM each morning, so please be ready to go by that time!  Extra spares can just show up for a game or to use a spare sheet of ice!

No Change Room Facilities

A reminder that you should come dressed to curl as there are no change rooms available to our group.  You should only need to change into your clean shoes which you plan on using on the ice.  Street shoes should never be used on the ice!  We can assist the new curlers with some temporary loaner equipment for a few weeks until you decide what you will need going forward!

Humber House League Mornings

Humber has access to the ice each morning on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays as indicated on the schedule.  There will be some exception dates which will be excluded from the schedule.  We will attempt to remind everyone during announcements.

The club schedule can be found here: Monthly Schedule All club events and playing dates are indicated on the schedule.

Dress Code

A reminder that we are guests at a private country club and we must adhere to all the rules of the club including dress code.  Your curling gear is appropriate attire but jeans are not allowed at any time!  Cellphone use is also restricted to certain areas only!  If you have any questions, please speak to any of the executive members for clarification.  We also, do not have any other privileges at the club, other than the ice rental and use of the lounge before and after each game.

Teams MONDAY TEAMS – WEDNESDAY TEAMS – FRIDAY TEAMS

  • Notify your skip by email (the name of your replacement on a given day) or if you are having trouble finding a spare! The contact info for the skip is indicated in each of the team lists above. Note: You may need to login to the IO site to see the members contact info.  Once you are logged in, stay logged in order to cycle thought all of the other info!
