Return-To-Play Guidelines for the 2021-2022 Curling Season at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club – Humber Seniors Curling
Do not enter the building if: • You or a member of your household is unwell, feeling sick or showing symptoms of illness. • You have been in contact with any person diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19. • You are waiting for results of a COVID-19 test.
Wash your hands often and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols of our facility will follow provincially required protocols.
Physical Distancing Requirements are in effect. Avoid close contact with others and maintain 2-metre physical distancing as much as possible.
Non-Medical Masks must always be worn in the Clubhouse. Masks are not required, but encouraged, in the ice shed.
Directional Arrows will be used to indicate flow of foot traffic in the Clubhouse.
Coatroom. Personal items are to be left in the coatroom. Please be advised this is not a change room and players need to arrive ready to play. There is no access to the locker rooms
There will be no entry to the ice shed until the ice is ready for play. No practice rocks will be delivered before games begin; practice slides will be allowed.
HUMBER SENIORS will be required to follow safety and distancing procedures on entering the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club to minimize congestion and maintain social distancing. HUMBER SENIORS are required to provide contact tracing information to the MGCC curling staff each time the league plays, using QR code sign in. No one will be allowed to enter the lounge more than 20 minutes prior to game time. You must arrive at the Club “ready to play”. Access to the coatroom will be available. We will not be allowing spectators, including children, in the lounge until further notice.
What you need to know:
● If there is a suspected/confirmed case of COVID-19 of any person who has entered the facility, MGCC will immediately contact Mississauga Public Health and follow their guidance and procedures.
● Masks will always be required in the clubhouse at MGCC. The wearing of masks is not required, but encouraged, when in the ice shed playing a curling game.
● Separate entrances/exits and controls on movement will be used to maintain physical distances between Curlers arriving at the Club for a game, Curlers on the ice, and Curlers in the lounge.
● Enhanced cleaning protocols will be implemented in the lounge, washrooms, and ice surface. Hand-pump sanitizers will be available throughout the facility. Extra equipment not necessary for the playing of the curling game or use of the lounge/washrooms will be removed.
● Curlers will need to provide all their own curling equipment. Brushes, stabilizers, and shoes/sliders will not be available.
● The Curling Professional Shop will have an inventory of playing equipment available to purchase. We will be pleased to order custom footwear as needed. Please observe
social distancing rules and do not enter the Pro Shop until you are able to maintain a 6-foot distance.
● There will be no bulletin board use.
● Failure to follow the Return to Play Guidelines may result in the cancellation of the agreement between HUMBER SENIORS and Mississaugua Golf and Country Club
Game Play Regulations

● Games on sheets 2, 4 and 6 will begin play at the home end
● Players will wait to enter the ice shed around the lounge table that corresponds to the sheet they will play on
● Once on the ice, all non-active players are to stand on the left side of the sheet as you look from the home end. Exception: Sheet 6 curlers may stand on the side boards if they wish
● Teams playing on sheets 1,2 and 3 will enter the ice shed through the door at sheet 1 and teams playing on sheets 4, 5 and 6 will enter the ice shed through the door at sheet 6
● The on-ice waiting areas are to remain the same regardless of direction of play
● There will be markers in the ice to show non-active curlers where to stand
● Only one person on the sheet will oversee marking the score on the scoreboard
● Only touch your own rocks, use your feet or broom to move other players rocks
● Only personal drinking containers will be allowed in the ice shed.
HUMBER SENIORS League is required to collect information of their members who enter the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club for contact tracing if a Curler tests positive for COVID-19.
We have thoroughly reviewed the Return to Play Guidelines from Curling Canada and CurlON, we believe our plan focuses on guiding Curlers to avoid and reduce risk. As new Government of Ontario and City of Mississauga legislation is implemented, our policies and procedures may be required to change.
